THE OAKS INDIAN MISSION IS RECRUITING POSITIVE, NURTURING ROLE MODELS TO LIVE WITH AND CARE FOR NEGLECTED NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the job of Houseparent must meet the following criteria:

• desire to live and work with neglected children;
• be 21 years of age or older;
• possess a valid U.S. driver’s license;
• have a professional certification or license in any field; OR, a minimum of an Associate degree (Bachelors preferred);
• pass a background check and drug test;
• be able to travel and adapt to various cultures.

TERMS

Houseparents are hired on the basis of a one year contract with an option to renew. There will be a semi-annual review, in November and May.  Penalties for early contract termination may apply*.

In addition to all required training and travel expenses, the OIM will provide a compensation package worth $29,340, that includes the following:

• a monthly stipend of $1,256 (paid in bi-weekly installments);
• room and board;
• an insurance package that includes health (with dental and vision), short-term disability and life;
• an optional 403(b) match of 1%.
